Tip
of the day
Hi, my name is Sergio De Felice, and I am a musician.
Well, actually I am an engineering student and a hobbyist
musician. I like to compose and play music, and sometimes I sell my creations
for use as background music.
What you see here is my
MIDI setup. There is a Fatar master keyboard, a DX7IIFDE!, a Proteus expander,
some Roland and Yamaha expanders, a Yamaha digital mixer and some other
accessories.
Of course I use Atari computers to keep everything working
perfectly. There is a Mega 4 STE I use for some SysEx activities and as an
editor/librarian, as well as a Falcon running Cubase Audio.
Where are these computers,
you will ask. You can't see my Mega STE since it is not in this picture, but you
can see the Falcon that I have put in a Tower case which drives all my MIDI setup
through a MO4 device (providing four additional MIDI OUT ports to my computer). The
Falcon MIDI IN port is fed by a MIDI merger, to accept the signals from both the
keyboards and the mixer (yes, you guessed it, I don't use the Cubase mixer, but
a real motorised MIDI driven mixer).
Above is an ariel
view of the Falcon, with all that messed cables that plug in almost every port.
On the top of the case you can see a Soundpool FA4, plugged in the Falcon DSP
port, providing four crystal clear analogue output for Cubase.
OK, back to my
"roads and bridges" exam. No, wait, I think I will play some music first :-)
