6.5.02 Day

Harry Reminder serves up a sweet treat to celebrate a special occasion

On 6 May 2002 we had a historical date, which corresponds to the model number of the Atari 8-bit processor, 6502. I think a real Atari freak has to celebrate this day. Fortunately this was also the date of the monthly meeting of ABBUC's regional user group in Frankfurt (RAF). This time we met at my flat and I expected up to eight visitors, four members of the RAF and four friends.

I decided to prepare a surprise for my guests and combined the general subject of our meeting with the special date. Instead of providing them with cola and snacks as usual I also made a cake, a very special one.

Three banana pieces form the Atari logo (now I know why they are bent). The two Pac-Men are made of apricot halves with small nuts as eyes.

The remaining space was filled with cherries and covered with gelatin.

CPU = Creamy Processing Unit!

My guests looked really surprised and were pleased when I showed it to them. It took only ten minutes to eat the complete cake. They said it tasted good. This dinner was a homage to Atari.

Due to the American date format, there will be another 6.5.02 day on 5 June 2002.
