Foreword

Photo of MatthewWelcome to the ninth issue of MyAtari magazine, the must-read for proud Atarians everywhere. This months issue contains some real gems including the second part of Roland Scholz's fantastic tutorial on the Atari XL parallel bus interface, a review of www.atariage.com and Tim Conrardy shares with us how he became an Atari musician.

This month I have two important announcements to make. Firstly, it is with great pleasure I formally announce our affiliation with MagiC Online to bring you the MyAtari magazine and MagiC Online forum. We hope that by pooling our resources we can establish a popular and lively web-based forum to rival those based in Germany.

MagiC Online

"MagiC Online is proud to announce its latest affiliation - the MyAtari.net's Forum. The recently establish MyAtari forum is now working in cooperation with MagiC Online: an attempt to establish a main (primarily English, but international posts welcome) web-based discussion board. German Atari users are lucky to have one or two primary web-based discussion boards such as the one on Atari-World.

Unfortunately, English discussion boards are abundant, scattered, and as a result, do not get the high level of traffic needed for engaging debates and discussions. This forum merger is an attempt to solve this problem. We hope that the MyAtari/MagiC Online Forum will become the primary forum of your choice. Discuss current news, problems, and anything Atari related - and know that a large audience of visitors will see your message."

Secondly, this month sees the launch of our
new look web sites. In early July, the decision was taken to redesign our site. Our aims were to improve the navigation, make the layout more flexible and reduce download times. Have we succeeded? we believe so, however, I look forward to hearing any comments or suggestions that you may have.

We hope that the new design has not confused you too much ;-) However, if you are experiencing any difficulties, please read our new Getting started guide and FAQ.

Please accept our apologies for being late again this month, it has been a rather busy month as you can imagine... roll on the summer. Enjoy the issue and see you again next month.

Best Regards,

Matthew Bacon, Editor
