Re: Trying to restore old HDD
So I have tired to restore folder by folder manually - I have ended up to restore one partition (10MB) 100% and second partition (70MB) about 60%. Then I have tried to dump that disk using TSGUI. First when I selected Full HDD Image it saves only 42MB RDF file which I can mount to WinUAE and I'm abl...

Re: Trying to restore old HDD
It may not but you not got many options..looks like it can't find track 0 , I would guess the heads are damaged or out of alignment.. Or the data has simply "faded away".. That what I have though - it looks like can't find a sector or a track. Header goes to some point then will park and restart di...

Re: Trying to restore old HDD
I would check to see if the drive is a self parking model first. If it is not and taping is is not a good idea until you know the head is parked. Taping it with the head out can cause the head to hit the media. I would look to run spinworks on it if you can Tom Yes, it was stuck in a self parking m...

I have an old Conner 80MB HDD which was shelved for about 5 years and recently I have decided to get some old stuff from it. When I connected it to the PC it was making strange noise something close to header clicking. I have read that try to bang side of it against some wood so I have did that but ...

Re: A1000 and TF536 with CF card
OK, it came up that A1000 works fine only with SanDisk CF 8GB card 2020-11-06 19.19.11.jpg 2020-11-06 19.19.19.jpg No clue why but it may be needs more power as TF sits on top of KuickStart II board. Probably that setup will need CF adapter which has external power source like that one: https://www....

Re: A1200 HDD and WinUAE
Yeah - I did run it as the admin other way it says Access Denied. Simple I'm not sure if WinUAE should to recognize more info or it is fine. Other options which are available: - IDE (auto) with ATA-1/ATA-2+/ATA-2-strict - UAE (uahef.device) which I think is related to "soft" HDD Disk info gave by Wi...

A1200 HDD and WinUAE
Well - as I have right now better access to real Amiga hardware with CF card I just dusted off my old A1200 HDD to see if I can recover anything from it. To get it done I have installed WinUAE running on Win7 and connected that HDD via ATA2USB cable. Windows recognized connected HDD (at least size o...
