Re: Hard disk driver update plan

Petari, was just on your site atari.8bitchip.info and read your updates on the driver there. About the new 1gb size and how you are adapting TOS to work with this. Thanks so much. this sounds great. I just wanted to post somewhere that I appreciate all your efforts in the ST world. I am going to do ...

Re: STE / MSTE 68020 booster

Fast RAM will not be on the card. The card has a 32MHz 68020 and 32 bit TOS. We will design a RAM card to plug on it (probably using SDRAM, like 64MB or 128MB). As to why .. space, space... space ... or the lack of it to be more exact. Rodolphe Hey, thats all good. If there is a card that plugs in....

Re: STE / MSTE 68020 booster

Not sure if its your booster or not but I remember seeing one on Exxos page that would not only do 68020 and 32mhz but also could have 8mb of TT ram? is that what this is going to finish as? I have MSTE and I would like 1st memory (so I can run multitasking OSs etc - my VME video and god forbid an a...

microCosmos & magiC

Does the microCosmos CE_DD (translasted drives) work with magiC?

I have not been able to get it to work.

Re: Epson smd-340

Just for the sake of completeness: Using HD floppys and formatting as DD is likely to produce unreliable results. The reason is, that HD floppies have a thinner coating and smaller particles, which makes a more precise and localized magnetic field. DD writing uses twice the energy as HD, so some so...

Re: Epson smd-340

So in my on going testing, replacement, repair and repeat, of the floppy drives of my Mega STEs.. I thought I would post this. SO, to sum up - I bought 2 mega STEs - one had a SMD-380 (DD drive) works great. one had an SMD-340( bad head I think physical damage) So I bought a couple off of ebay - bot...

Re: MEDIA CHANGE FIXS

OK, I will do this one first then. I think this is in effect what the Alison wire was doing.. the positions look the same. But I also have an NPN transistor I can use, so I will do your mod and confirm. :)

Re: MODIFY SONY MPF920 DRIVE FOR ATARI USE

Thanks Chris, I will do that today. So in fact, this is not a modify of the drive at all, its a modify of the media detect in the computer. SO for the drive, as long as I use one that I can do the ID jumper change, on my mega STE this mod will make it re-read every time a new access. I suppose a lit...
