Re: The resurrection of atari-wiki.com
I missed this during the summer, so I wanted to say thanks so much to exxos, Icky and any and all that are involved in this.
I for one have missed this site a ton, and I think its really important to have a central resource that will survive and thrive.
Thanks.
James

Re: Simple upgrades for a Mega-STE
Good to know about the GAL, because I don't think Exxos has it. Anyone know about the TOS-swap ? I'm hoping it's just remove-the-old and replace-with-the-new, but blowing up the machine before I ever got to use it doesn't really appeal - I'd rather look stupid and ask than be stupid and .... boom! ...

Re: Bikerbob's H5 C1 build
Just thought I would post here and let those interested know. I am planning a PIstorm board for the H5 I know one has already been successfully done, so its a do-able build. I am using my PAK stuff in a MegaST4 . Built a new FRAK/2 and that will begin testing soon. Been a very busy non atari summer....

Re: 2.2 Booster in MegaST4
Yep. Remove the H5 CPU and ROM. Plug the booster into a 5V slot. Set the booster to TOS206. Connect the 16MHz wire direct to the shifter pin 39 on the H5. The BG wire (which you currently have soldered to the blitter pad) needs fitting to a different 5V port on pin 11. That should be all you need t...

Re: 2.2 Booster in MegaST4
The best machine for this booster to go into is a STFM I assume? The 70789 is the most stable. Though don't you have a H5 you could try the booster in ? at least then you will know that is functioning correctly or not. If you want to do that i'll figure out how to fit it in. If you can get it worki...

Re: 2.2 Booster in MegaST4
You really need to get a scope on the signals to see what is really going on with it all. I have a good digital scope, what I need to do now is learn how to use it. I really want to learn how to use it in regards to Atari's. Hate learning from Youtube, but might be the best way to learn how to actu...

Re: 2.2 Booster in MegaST4
Thanks.. I wont put a tonne more energy into this because exactly what you say. I read the thread on the V2.2 and dealing with the megaST over the years. I had suggested to the fellow I will try and get the machine back up and running STOCK.. which I did.. and if I can get the booster working then I...

Re: 2.2 Booster in MegaST4
Did you remove the motherboard ROMs ? I6 error is nothing to worry about. In 8Mhz mode you might be able to disconnect the 16Mhz wire and see if it improves. Maybe even try without the buffer board. You can also remove the DUALTOS ROM, refit the motherboard ROMs and try TOS104 see if that changes a...
