Re: Let's play cartoons on STE, TT, Falcon

Blackstar, Thundar the Barbarian, Dungeons and Dragons, there a lot of very cool cartoons that would be super cool viewed on our Atari's! :) I'm sure that they are great. As many other ones ... I will do one more Pink Panther episode - that one, where he wants to be superman is really hilarious. Pa...

Re: no-software internal RTC

Since RP5C15 has 6 bits for year, it means that it could count years up to 2043 - calculating by start year=1980 , and 6 bits can be 0-63 . That means that chip self is actually OK for this century too ( well, for first 43% of :D ) , but TOS handles it not properly. Probably just displaying part - b...

Re: no-software internal RTC

RTC chips, at least those old ones store not exact year value, but some number of bits for year. Similar is with TOS date format. It has 7 bits for year, and starts at 1980 - so value 0 in year field means 1980 . Some may ask: how then it's not year 2000 compliant ? I guess there are some code parts...

Re: no-software internal RTC

Actually the tos supports directly at least one rtc ic, the ricoh rp5c15, it's hard to find and you have to develop a board, but all you need to use it is atari's control panel. I made it in past. After project in ST Magazine - if I remember correct. No board developing, just on prototype board. It...

Re: no-software internal RTC

Well, talking about what would be simpler: 1: Modding TOS, so no need for additional SW - in case of using some dedicated RTC chip. 2: Adding battery + couple cheap parts to ensure power of IKBD chip when ST is not powered on. http://atari.8bitchip.info/ikbdbatt.html And most important: none of 2 me...

Removed nasty gradient over screen - left side is more pink, right more blue. And cle...

Let's play cartoons on STE, TT, Falcon

After some time again dealing with 16 color mode AV playback on Ataris. I spotted Pink Panther collection, and it looked as ideal for some not much HW demanding audio-video playback on our oldies. Usually, hand drawn animated movies are at 12 fps real framerate most time, there is no many color, so ...
