Re: The strange case of the non-running games.

You should check Hddriver settings with it's HDDRUTIL.APP - likely too much RAM allocated for buffers.
Settings, General, there is Cache for FAT, Data . It tends to give lot of RAM when machine has larger RAM size. And may be something Fast RAM related - I'm not familiar with Hddriver so much.

Re: Any unused IO on the STf mainboard?

You can mod TOS, but lot of games will perform direct writing of constants to that port, and that will affect drive B selection line. What will not harm anything, so may be solution. But then is better to use unused bits 6 and 7. They are btw. used in Mega STE and Falcon. I can do TOS mod, not right...

Re: Any unused IO on the STf mainboard?

Good one :D Atari is not known by putting unused pins and ports in his computers. Actually, Atari rather shared some ports between multiple peripherals. And that leads to possible solution: using PSG chip port B, which goes to parallel (printer) port connector. You have there plenty of lines - of co...

Re: The strange case of the non-running games.

Older adaptations, which are not HAGA (no such file in DIR) work not from SCSI drives. Precisely, some may work, some not. HAGA is done exactly in purpose to make it more compatible, and it allows more RAM allocated by hard disk driver, but not too much (max some 512 KB) . Cannon Folder with audio w...

Re: Forum "slogan" update ?

Well, I think that this will remain primarily Atari oriented. Don't see why Amiga should be equated - sorry Amiga developers and lovers, I don't mean with this that it is something lower worth or like - we just can not change fact that exxos and most of others here have longer or shorter Atari exper...

Re: Good Greetings!

Hello :D
To feed some 5-10 STs with power some stronger PC PSU will be fine and surely cheap way. Assuming that you meant low voltage power supply.
If machines are close each to other can use normal wires for 1-2 A current, otherwise will need thicker.

Re: Forum "slogan" update ?

Thinking about what makes people still using and developing for those old, slow, limited machines ... Well, there is a number of them which do it because don't like PC, Windows - but they still have some modern computer, mostly Apple :D I think that right answer is possibility to make self (in 'virt...

Re: Forum "slogan" update ?

I think that this will remain mostly Atari ST (and it's followers - TT, Falcon) forum. So, word Atari should stay in possible, new slogan.

ok, but why I'm getting only 569mo?
Maybe because that's size of first partition. Or who knows. I don't think that it is relevant. Things are that there is no other driver SW than mine what can access more than 1 GB with Mega STE internal adapter.
