Re: PSU capacitor leakage

That's not leakage around the electrolytic caps, but glue! However, you must -- I repeat: you must -- replace that RIFA X capacitor. Those have next to 100% failure rate and they fail quite spectacularly with fireworks. Be sure to chose a replacement with the same voltage and safety class X. EDIT: T...

Re: What PLD were the Atari chips? ricoh.. ?

These are all either gate arrays or fully custom chips. They cannot be "read" like, e.g., a GAL or a CPLD. One can decapsulate them and given enough money (or crazy skills like ijor has) one can reverse-engineer the netlist from there. But even given a netlist that might look like this (snippet of a...

Re: What PLD were the Atari chips? ricoh.. ?

From my list, only for the 16/32 bit line of computers. (There were more manufacturers for the 8 bit computers and the game consoles.) - IMP (a lot of chips) - National Semiconductor (Blitter, some chips in the TT) - ST, RCA (other manufacturers of the Blitter) - LSI Logic, Toshiba (chips in the Fal...

Re: True discussion MegaSTE vs MEGA with Pak68 et al

That's interesting since the manual says boot roms are needed for TOSes other than German. Turns out: They were when the manual was written... Guess it's not needed. :?: ... while in the meantime Holger (pakman) managed to also modify non-German TOS versions in a way that allow the PAK to boot with...

Re: Agranlunds TF534 Build

With a PC-compatible (= not TOS-only-compatible) partitioning scheme, EmuTOS should be able to recognize the TF's IDE interface as is, i.e., with a regular cable as "twisted" interface. Of course, after changing the IDE IF's address to be where the Atari expects it, like Agranlund did.

Re: STe dual TOS upgrade - 1.62 works fine, 2.06 does not

Diag check still fails though. I won't worry about it. Afaik, the STE diagnostic simply does not know TOS 2.06. (It even says so on the screen: "New version number.") Therefore, it doesn't know which ROM checksum to expect, either, and fails. However, TOS 2.06 has a built-in checksum test at boot. ...

Re: Future store updates planned (backend)

Although the cynical in me wonders how much of it is needlessly complicated because payment processors are just using the PSD2 as a pretext to nudge you into more expensive contracts. A slightly off-topic example: A German bank announced that they would discontinue a certain functionality because it...

Re: Future store updates planned (backend)

Little side note: The German banking Bafin regulator announced a few days ago that they will allow German stores to accept credit card payments for online payments without strong customer authentication (SCA) even after September 14th and until further notice. It seems that many (particularly small ...
