Re: 12V needed for ST?

I hope I can clear up some confusion in this thread. No 12 V are required for mono output. (Except, of course, if some external adapter is powered from 12 V.) In STs with a modulator , the chip that generates the composite video signal is powered from 12 V. A typical RGB-SCART cable derives its comp...

Re: Revisions of the STE motherboard ?

Tbh, considering how they mislabel the chips in the magazine (e.g., labelling the Blitter als "new GLUE"), I would take the rest of the information in this article with a grain of salt, too. Such as the claim about 14 revisions. Maybe it said "rev 1.4" on the board.

Re: TT, Thunder, Storm, Lightning and Nova

This is presumably that patched 3.06 because it's the one Matthias installed on the Thunder. You can recognize this patched version because the boot logo looks different. I can confirm that the patched version of TOS 3.06 can boot from the IDE interface of the Thunder. As with all hard drive interf...

See further up in the thread:
mikro wrote: Thu Dec 07, 2023 7:17 am I can confirm: Thunder + Storm + Lightning + Nova + Mach64 (even with 4 MB) + EmuTOS works OK.
This also matches my personal experience.

Re: 060 performance issues traced to ATC misses?

As a side note, you can also see the ATC in effect on a 68030, as I've shown many years ago:

Re: St cartridge connector

I once bought one of the Samtec ones. It is slightly too narrow. Depending on the cartridge it's either a very tight fit or the cartridge does not fit at all.

Re: exxos blog - random goings on

@czietz Never mind then I guess  I just tried EMUTOS again before sending you the file and it worked this time. Weird. Sorry; I have no explanation for why it works now when it didn't before. BTW - Would invalid filenames crash EMUTOS ? I would say that invalid filenames would not crash EmuTO...

Re: exxos blog - random goings on

Maybe because I have thousands of files and folders also ? I can probably PM you my files, it's about 62MB zipped if you want to dump that on a SD card and try. All I can say is it works in TOS, but EMUTOS doesn't. I'd like to try to reproduce that. So, yes, if you'll send me the .zip file I'll tes...

Re: exxos blog - random goings on

But either way, it works fine in TOS all the way through the deletion, so I don't see how EMUTOS is the same when it fails ? Here is Atari TOS 2.06 failing in the exact same way: 13 levels deep works, 14 levels deep cannot be copied. https://youtu.be/kQdMxe-6roE Hence, I'm interested in what you do...
