Re: Video driver thoughts

I've ordered 10 PCBs and paid for UPS delivery.. Since the 1772 boards only went into production this morning, I have asked if those can be sent with the video boards so I hope to get both quicker then... £25 a go is a lot for UPS... but I should get the boards in a weeks time.. not 1-2months...

Re: Rescuing an ancient 520ST

wow, the electrons were sure in a hurry to get out of that chip!

Didn't know there was a -38 Shifter ? I have 3 ST's here I never touched. Probably gonna just have to start selling some machines to clear up some space soon.

It should fit (but I haven't tried it) but with that TOS board, you probably don't need the cap-board anyway.. or if some caps are in the way, just remove a row.

Re: Parallel port

There are some vias close to the parallel port pins.. so worth checking you haven't bridged over to any.. also possible the YM chip is faulty ?

Re: Video driver thoughts

GND (top) layer, nice solid route under and around the DAC... gp1.jpg VCC (bottom) layer... bl1.jpg I added in 2 more caps on VCC pins of the DAC since they are in stupid places.. Digital & analouge ended up mixed up as a result of it all.. but All likely better router than on the Falcon anyway. EDI...

Works for me .. I think the datasheet is probable more accurate than what was done on the falcon :)
Hopefully :) Easy to bridge them over if needs be anyway.

Re: Exxos STE RAM Upgrade - machine sees only 2 mb

I forgot to say I looked at your returned one. It looks like the solder has "ripped" on one end of the simm.. the boards are a bit fragile (bendy) so that can happen if not careful when inserting them.

Re: Video driver thoughts

I'm not sure about C1, C2 and C3 inline with RGB, the Falcon has 75 ohm resistors inline to match standard line impedance for video signals. Are you doing this to eliminate any potential DC in the signal ? I'm doing it because that what it says in the datasheet.... I to am not sure why the falcon i...
