Re: BLITTER RE-CREATION THOUGHTS

So my findings are firstly a diode doesn't drop enough voltage and ends up being 4.2V not 3.3V, so a regulator be better really on these things.. 5V isn't 5V output, ends up 4.2V.. 3.3V should still be able to drive a logic 1 on a 5V rail anyway.. Main problem is when the 3.3V side isn't connected t...

Re: DMA port "update" ideas..

Yeah probably should keep the port as the project goal is to remain total backwards compatibility.. My assumption would be that everyone would buy the internal hard drive, but of course if people already have external drives, they are not going to like been forced to buy an internal one this motherb...

Re: BLITTER RE-CREATION THOUGHTS

My test buffer PCB arrived.. So will try and build this up and give it a try out.. Really this is just double checking that when the 3.3V side goes tri-state, that it does not affect the 5V side. I don't think that it will, but I'm going to try this out on breadboard once assembled up is to make sur...

Re: Forgottenmyname - Progress

I'm using a IMP shifter in my STF and works fine.. also IMP DMA,GLUE,MMU in fact.

There are some variations of shifter, some MEGA shifters had direct analouge outputs, don't know if any made it to the real world or not, its in the MEGA schematics.

Re: PaulJ Progress

Yeah Rackmount would work very well. I've thought about making a separate case for the keyboard etc, does anyone know if a Mega keyboard is pin compatible with the normal STF ones? got lots of plugs to make more leads. The falcon I have here has a hacked on connector which looks like the MEGA one.

Re: DMA port "update" ideas..

Just thinking out loud again, but if UltraSatan is possible to fit internally, Would we even need the DB19 connector at all ?

Re: Hissing and whistling in the STe audio output

That's something I can't reproduce. As you can see below, there deosn't seem to be a 2600 Hz spike on the Filter In pin. Thats why I think its possible it could be generated internally. Looking at your first FFT, you can see the harmonics spikes, so the tallest one is around 7,000Khz.. So that coul...

Re: RESET circuit tweaks

Did a quick board to replace the NE555 the TL7705... The two electrolytic's will need removing from the motherboard and this adapter board soldering's place.. I added in a jumper link because there is a inverted and non-inverted output on the TL7705... We need the inverted one to straight swap with ...
