Re: re-Amiga 1200

Is that the chucky terrible fire sometimes mentions?

Why don't people create the schematics and do a new board ? A lot easier to make circuit changes and mods then. If I copied the STE, id copy DMA issues along with it.. I'm all for starting over.

Re: competent repair people ?

Thats some of the "trouble" as well, people are paying like £100+ in just shipping their machine to me in the UK.. shipping is more costly than the some of the work I do!

Just wondering what the voltage rating is for things like capacitors on the new board? 25v?
Think there is only 3 caps which are electrolytic and 16v... Most caps are all ceramic now and normally 50+ volts. I've not looked into it.. No need.

So as you don’t like soldering, will you be selling the new “red” psu in a kit form?

Just being hopeful....
I'm farming off soldering work to a UK company now.. Increases costs but I don't have time to keep building things up anyway. I wrote a lot about that elsewhere..

Re: Part kits

And you said you didn't like soldering any more :D I don't  Would rather someone else build it and try it :P I've gotta catch up on repairs, STE boosters, new PSU's yet  When you put the list like that, it brings home how much work is involved in planning, let alone building the board. I...

Re: Part kits

Parts below will be in the kit.. The CPU & ROM are £10 each in my store, but will do at half price in this kits.. then helps offset the "double postage cost" for you guys.. Excluding the parts I carry in stock, the "order" to farnell and rapid in total comes to £422 so far, I aiming for 10 kits, so ...
