Re: FOR SALE STF/E KEYBOARDS (UK)

Yes you can reuse the keys. Take the keyboard apart and replace the broken white bit or springy rubber bit (for want of s better description) and reassemble.

It's easy enough, just a bit if a pain to get it all back together.

Re: RESET circuit tweaks

The 7705 in one of my Megas has a VCC of 5v and CT sits at around 3.16v when not in reset. /reset is at 5v and drops to 0 on reset press, Reset sits at 0.84v till reset pressed and jumps to 4.7v for reset pulse. R2 measures at 1K but R1 is 440ohm as fitted but marked as 1K, so probably C1 having an ...

Re: RESET circuit tweaks

Ok, so I'll pop a multimeter on the chip and see what kind of voltages the mega is working at then.

Can't imagine it's as high as 5.4 as I'm sure when I recapped that psu it was around 4.9v

Re: RESET circuit tweaks

Is there any interest in me checking out the mega reset circuit any more? In case the circuit isn't as drawn?

Still needs the inverter though doesn't it?

Re: Plan for 2019

Totally agree, make your working area a less cluttered space and your productivity and happiness will rise, rather than keep looking at that pile of unfixed machines, mountains of unsorted components etc. I had to learn the hard way when I couldn't find what I wanted and didn't have the space. Thing...

Re: RESET circuit tweaks

Ok, now I understand, the aim is also to get rid of the inverter, hadn't thought of that. In turn will free up space.

Good point well made.

Re: RESET circuit tweaks

Morning,

Can't help think why don't we just keep the 555? I know you want to limit the amount of chips etc but if the reset chip fails it's easier to diagnose a faulty 555 than start looking at failed components?
