If it is taking longer, you've selected the wrong chip version, quit and try again. There are a few different variations used on the nano.
I'd actually wired it to an Uno clone, will tis tool only work with a Nano? I have some if so.

Thanks sety, I've got that bit sorted.

I've just built a plipbox network adaptor, just need to get it programmed and will use that as well.
