@rubber_jonnie yes that cable is definitely worth a punt. I got my adaptor imported from the US and it works great but it's not cheap obviously.
I'll try and get a comparison of my screen later on if I get a mo.

@rubber_jonnie I use the S-Video cable that's on a special PCB that replaces the modulator but the S-Video cable you bought for your C64 should also do the job nicely and IMO looks so much better.

My C128D is connected to a VGA monitor by that Adaptor I pointed you to RJ and using that it took ages to get the Lumafix right, coming back to it on a couple of different occasions. One interesting fact is that the Open128 board that's now in my C128D has a really good picture without the Lumafix. ...

Thanks for the suggestion Jon, I hadn't thought about continuing to monitor the 5v and 12v after setting them. Will monitor and see

But then thinking some more. It's not impossible that the logic board is causing the resetting. As the logic board had to be repaired but the only test bed I have is the Max Classic that I've had to repair the analog board on
