Re: Flashy Clock - Yet another DEV board

Sounds like we need a separate topic post on your Uniflex computer @PaulJ. Would be interesting to hear about it. Icky , I'll put something up. Its really a unique machine running a 63b09 at 4 MHz with an advanced design for memory management. UniFlex is a full featured UNIX which is very responsiv...

Re: Flashy Clock - Yet another DEV board

So @Icky , I've been off building a UniFlex computer for some time and lost track of where Flashy Clock is. Is there a final version out or are we still turning engineering releases?

Re: Problem with FPU 68882

It would be my guess that a 68881 has a differient pal that the 68882. Just a guess.. When I put a 68882 in my MSTE from Exxos it needed a pal. Don't know about a falcon.. The MSTE needs one for FPU or no FPU - but that's very different from the Falcon going from one FPU to another. Also they're ad...

Re: Not good Microsoft, you've lost me now.

Indeed. That's why I won't touch an M1 system. Maybe wait until M2 or M3 generations. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. :D Although basing it on history that old is suspect as I see it. I don't believe anyone has an issue when it comes to purchasing something M1 or Mx based since it will share...

Re: Not good Microsoft, you've lost me now.

I would beg to differ on all most all your statements. The M1 will not be obsolete next year. Its performance will make it a popular machine for years to come. Yes there will be more powerful machines but the M1 challenges most intel chips and has beyond great battery life. Ok I used the wrong word...

Re: Not good Microsoft, you've lost me now.

rubber_jonnie , one really nice feature Apple is providing with IOS 15 is "Hide my Email". Hide my Email allows you to create proxy email addresses that apple converts to your real email addresses. If you want to access a site but don't want them to have your real email address you create...

Re: Not good Microsoft, you've lost me now.

I do not know much about Apple, but I thought their new operating system updates would not run on older hardware ? half recall people complaining about this not long ago. Big Sur is their latest released OS.. which is free as all their OS upgrades. I believe Monterey is still in beta. Here is a lis...

Re: Not good Microsoft, you've lost me now.

Same with Apple I'm afraid. Remember when Apple changed from PPC CPU's to Intel? You think they'd support the last PPC Mac with at least a couple of OS updates surely especially since it cost you 3 grand, no... The very next OS Snow Leopard supported absolutely zero PPC, discontinued the entire pro...

Re: 27C400 EPROM emulators (beta) issue D technical discussion

Using pyserial, 115200 8N1, I was finally able to get a sucessful program by writing the data in 32 byte chunks instead of a single 'ser.write(bytearray)' statement. I don't know why the chunking works though... I would guess that 115200 is too fast for the emulator. I'm not sure how cmorley handle...
