Re: Wanted: Boxed Atari Falcon 030
Out of curiosity why "Boxed" ? When I snagged my falcon I was happy to get one fully functional in great shape at a good price. I didn't consider if it had a box.

Re: Stuff and Things.
rubber_jonnie , in years past the acid test for software was it function as spec'd. That was hard enough when dealing IO. Back then root was all powerful, you could do anything as root. Now days modern computers have been infected with security code to attempt to stop the bad guy from gaining a foo...

Re: Stuff and Things.
rubber_jonnie , my first experiences where all with Hewlett Parkard computers running HPUX which is a far cry from dos and windoze. At first we used multiple HP300 machines and then moved to HP400 machines. Dos and windozes never a consideration because they didn't have memory or multitasking OS. A...

Re: Stuff and Things.
It's funny, but I've never really had issues with MS and I've been using them since the days of DOS. I don't doubt other people have had problems, but then I could moan about Apple where it seems to have decided that you will have certain options set back to Apple defaults on every iPad and iPhone ...

Re: Stuff and Things.
I don't think it's so much my install of Hatari, it's the files in Onedrive it doesn't like. If I download fresh files straight from the web to the Mac, it seems to run just fine. I'm finding that zips, pdfs, Word, Excel et al from Onedrive are universally disliked by my Mac, even when copied from ...

@rubber_jonnie , just upgraded the trashcan from Mojave to Big Sir. No issues and Hatari 2.31 runs fine.

Re: Server downtime
Ya, do you know where Russ is? Lurking on Facebook from my last sight of a post by him a day or so ago. I think he's steering clear of anything ST these days though on account of the Satan connection. He may still own his mainboard scorching machine though. Nope he was on FB a few days ago announci...

Re: Stuff and Things.
Yes, was using telnet, tried a ping with no response.. maybe a mega doesn’t even do ping? Also traceroute doesn’t get there either so I’ll chalk the experience up to the opportunity to build telnet on the new machine. It was more a novelty to check it out anyway so not a great lost. I use telnet qu...
