Re: officer960's H5 Rev. B1 Build

sporniket thanks for the info and links. I had previously been following several builds, including yours. Was wondering what you were doing with those pin sockets in place of PLCC - now I know. I installed several of the sockets, reset switch, battery holder and some odds and ends. Next is th...

Re: officer960's H5 Rev. B1 Build

PhilC thanks. To be honest, I think this is over my head. I've practiced a LOT of through hole and limited bits of surface mount soldering before attempting but - I seriously considered stopping after the difficulty I had on those two surface mount chips. I replaced a few 68000, Kickstart and Denis...

officer960's H5 Rev. B1 Build

After sitting on my hands for a while - I have committed to begin assembling the collected parts. I have been examining the bare board for a few hours now and comparing it to the sockets and chips and I have some questions: I AM A COMPLETE NOOB - WITH THICK SKIN - IF I SHOULD ABORT - DON'T HESITATE ...

Re: H5 B1 FIXES

@DoG @exxos Thanks fellas. Have a pile of components and patiently waiting for a time when I have the nerve built up and the house will be quiet/empty to start. Only part that has me really nervous is any SMD work... the through hole parts only has me slightly nervous.

Re: H5 B1 FIXES

sorry for the noob question, but is this the only fix needed on the Rev B1 boards? I had been (loosely) following a thread that showed several traces that needed to be cut and some bodge work but that may have been the earlier "A" board?

Thanks in advance.

Re: H5 BUYERS INTERESTS

exxos sorry for the confusion. I had committed to buy three total H5 boards - two for me and one for a friend. I am listed on page one as wanting three H5’s. My friend backed out when it came time for me to place the order in your store. I paid for two H5’s and did not order or pay for the third H5...

Re: H5 BUYERS INTERESTS

I ordered two in your store but had signed up for three. The person who asked me to get a third board has backed out. Is it possible to change the order - if not, I’ll order it separately?

Re: H5 postage drama

exxos just coming back to this and noticed the pre-order was live. I do not want to pay the idiot tax, but more importantly I don't want to be an idiot  I'm in the US. I committed to three assembled boards. If I read correctly, this will ship in two boxes and there will be room in the second b...

Re: H5 BUYERS INTERESTS

@exxos or @Icky

I am down for two assembled boards but was discussing this with a friend and he would like one also. Is it possible to change my total to THREE assembled H5's. I'll be on the hook for his if he should renege or whatever.

THANKS!

Re: H5 BUYERS INTERESTS

@exxos I would like two H5 boards with all possible components pre-installed. My soldering skills are not "terrible" nor are they "great", but I don't want to sit this project out. Thanks!
