Re: Hi from Holland
nice... I found a Commodore 1084 in the electronics container at the dump. Mint condition. Even still with front control cover that always snaps off.

Re: Giving up on atari
I think I found best use for MSTE as a foot stool. Given that it's told me in no uncertain terms only the OEM 48mb seagate will work, there's no other practical use... I will not sell it to other people because it can only cause them pain and frustration too. Falcon on other hand, I want the money b...

Giving up on atari
Decided this is all big waste of time. Get satandisk, never bloody works right, get told I'm using wrong SD card (nobody says what right SD card is). Buy specially advertised one on ebay, never shows up, get refund. Figure okay whatever, don't want to spent 100 years hunting holy grail of sd card th...

Re: New video connector ?
For what it's worth, I'd like it to use a VGA connector and a simple rgb/mono toggle switch to mount somewhere on the back of the case. A thing I really don't like about UBE is it likes to switch modes on every reboot. And any fancy software mode switch is going to be a waste of time.

Re: Falcon IDE read failing at higher frequencies
I would imagine mikro is sensible enough to have tested this thoroughly and confirmed that the symptoms he's reporting are accurate. He says he has, so believe him. I've certainly never heard of the CT2 ballsing up the IDE as a normal behavior (honestly, would anyone buy one if they did?). Is the re...

Re: competent repair people ?
You say repair work, but these aren't (obviously) falcon specialists. So how does that go, you diagnose it, write down a note saying replace this this and this, fix this broken trace here, and stick it all with the new parts in a box and hand it over? God I'd be a bag of nerves hoping it didn't go t...

Re: A BIt of Advice Please
Oh good god, a GBS board. my professional, experienced advice: throw it away! They're not that hard to get working if you know how (With the ST it needs feeding sync through an LM1881 stripper IC), but it's pointless because they're rubbish. People advertise them as scandoublers but really they're j...
