Re: Off work 3 weeks

Well, I've been added to the madness now. Toyota, where I work as a maintenance supervisor, has shut down. They announced yesterday that they were shutting down 3/23 & 24 for a deep cleaning. This afternoon I woke up to more hurried emails stating that we're going to be down until April 6. That's al...

Re: Off work 3 weeks

Yeah, here in the States, for some odd reason, it started with toilet paper. Everyone is out of toilet paper. None to be had anywhere. Then they moved on to other items in the paper aisle; paper towels, napkins, paper plates. Now the stores are running out of everything. I braved one of our local Wa...

Re: Gotek / HxC Manager problem

Exactly! And I may leave it alone since it's started working again. I'll need to manhandle this one to get it back into the shield and the case completely reassembled. My concern is that it will stop working again during that whole process. I guess I can wait and see how it goes though, then pull it...

Re: Gotek / HxC Manager problem

I didn't think about that, but you very well could be right. Since my extractor tool is coming today, I may go ahead and pull the MMU and look the pins over well with my magnifier glasses and the pins in the socket as well.

Re: Gotek / HxC Manager problem

I looked at the MMU and nothing looked moved or strange, so I didn't pull it. I have an extractor coming tomorrow, so I will if I need to, but on a hunch, I'd pulled the motherboard completely out of the case and away from the lower shield. Just sitting on the desktop like that, I hooked everything ...

Re: STFM CASES & GOTEK

For my STE, or an external drive case with the short eject button, I used the one mentioned by derkom earlier in this thread. I printed one and it looks and works great. I posted a picture of my make on the site. The design is by Braincell. He also has another design, almost identical, but modified ...

Re: Going Gotek - FlashFloppy How To

Well, I'm having no luck whatsoever getting the filename to scroll. I've attached the Display section from my FF.cfg file below. The FF.cfg file is stored on the root of my flash drive. It looks like everything was setup to run correctly from the start except for changing the display-off-secs settin...

Re: Going Gotek - FlashFloppy How To

On mine, when there is no drive activity, my screen just turns off after a few seconds. No scrolling. There was also not a FF.cfg file on mine. I'll have to look back through the included files and see if I can find one. EDIT: OK, I found the FF.cfg file and there's a decent sized section related to...

Re: Going Gotek - FlashFloppy How To

I'm curious about the OLED screen operation. I could've sworn I'd read somewhere in this thread about the disk image filename scrolling, but they do not on mine. If the filename is longer than the screen is wide, it's just cut off, and there is no text scrolling. I also see from the images in this t...

Re: Gotek / HxC Manager problem

I'll look into it. It seems strange that it would just up and die without any warning, but it is 33+ years old and has been stored in various non-climate controlled garages and attics over the years. I guess things just die eventually. I ordered several chips from you a couple of months back, but I'...
