Back up and running, what a job that was. In time for the new ultrasatan! Backing up all my old Cubase song files from floppy disks. It's funny seeing all the hard drives on the desktop, that would have been a fantasy back in 1994.

Finally got around the desoldering the SIPPs, took ages as I only had soldering Iron and sucker

SIMM Sockets
I tried to put a 4mb ram upgrade in my 520STE at the weekend but was confronted by SIPPs and no SIMM sockets! So I'm having to fully dismantle and desolder the SIPPs
I've bought 4 SIMM sockets from exxos but wanted to know if it matters which way round they go?

Hi all
Another member here, just bought a 520STE so I can restore my old Cubase arrangements. I sold my 1040STE in 1999 and regretted it ever since.
When I opened up my STE though I found the memory soldered on to the motherboard so I've got to fully dismantle and put some sockets in
