Re: Possible (long term) solution for ST/TT ISA GFX card?

My goal is a plug&play solution with a OSS driver. I'm not interested in emulation of any ancient hardware or patching NVDI, etc..

Re: Possible (long term) solution for ST/TT ISA GFX card?

I actualy designed a couple of such devices already. The last project is for the ST ROM Port. It contains 2MB of SRAM, XC95144XL CPLD, 18bit R2R DAC and VGA out. I finished it to the stage where it is possible to write pixels into videoram. Due to small CPLD space it is limited to a single VGA mode ...

Re: Possible (long term) solution for ST/TT ISA GFX card?

For the Atari there is no need to bother with ISA or any other obsolete PC standard. A simple, yet ET4000 class GFX card can be done just by using fast enough SRAM, large CPLD or FPGA, crystal oscillator and resistor network based video DAC. Then write a HDL state machine that will map the SRAM to t...

Re: PiStorm Chat

Raspberry Pi as virtual graphics card byte-swapping and dumping a 4 meg block of memory to the screen in Falcon 565 format. fVDI tweaked to provide the framebuffer in the right bit of altram space. There is already existing open source implementation of the fvdi driver as part of the Aranym VM. The...

Nova Mach64 issues

Hello. Basilisk runs well on my MegaST/Pak68/3/Frak1/Panther2 using latest Nova Mach64 drivers from idek. It runs pretty well, however there are some gfx issues. 1. In the 256 color mode MAC OS starts in grayscale and so the 256 color games (namely PoP). 2. For other resolutions than 640x480, BII st...

Re: TF536 - Atari

I've got two 33MHz 68030s ordered from ali (right one). After I replaced my former 50MHz 68030 CPU (left one) all issues magically dissapered. Too weird. I spent hours by trying various patches, ROMS, PSUs, two different machines, multipoint grounding and additional power filtering without any succe...

Re: TF536 - Atari

TOS 2.6 in ROMS Sure I have the fastram.prg first in AUTO then everything other. Also tried with maprom.prg and both possible orders of maprom.prg and fastram.prg. The result si allways the same: - under plain TOS some apps and sysyinfo shows amount of fastram properly - doom (pmdoom last version) c...

It doesn't recognise TF536 FastRAM when TOS2.6 + maprom/fastram is used.
Also, it seems that Mint does not recognise any fastram in the same setup, too.

Re: TF536 - Atari

OK. Twisted cable did the trick.
Unfortuantely, there are still random freezes, especially when using the fastram. Any ideas, how to stabilise? Machine is 520ST (with external floppy and PSU).
