Re: Building a DIY large bed 3D printer

That HR-PLA 3D870 sound very interesting. I sometimes print some astronomy hardware related pieces with ABS (brackets, ..), but may be I should try this new PLA.

Re: STE / MSTE 68020 booster

It's not abandoned :) I'm actually working on manually routing most of the new PCB, which takes time. And will try to get them partially assembled so that I don't lose time on this (for the SMD, I'll do the through hole myself as there are not a lot of them) even though I have a reflow oven.. to tim...

Re: Single core maxed out, any solutions win7 ?

Still using the older Eagle app. Possibly a current Eagle would do better at multithreading but then you'll need to re-learn where they put stuff and the renamed functionality. :chairsmack: :chairsmack: :chairsmack: <rant on> And pay a lot more for a lot less to move to the new version, thanks but ...

Re: Single core maxed out, any solutions win7 ?

We're using systems with dual socket and between 8 cores to 24 cores per socket (and between 768GB to 3TB of RAM per system (2 or 4 sockets)). So you do need proper threading in your apps, good numa balancing for the NICs (usually dual 10G or dual 25G cards) and other IO path (RAID cards, Fiber Chan...

Re: Single core maxed out, any solutions win7 ?

If the applications are properly multithreaded they'll use more than one core. I can see this in Eagle auto-router if I chose a number of thread matching the number of core hyper-threaded of my machine and launch it.. at that point all cores go to 100%. Of course each thread = 1 way of routing, so I...
