Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM

Doesn't look like I documented it, but RJ could possibly try a small pF like 47pF on the 8MHz line on the bottom of the GLUE and see if that helps (or makes it worse even) .. its possible it may need a series resistor... Its also possible it could be a sync issue with DE from GLUE to MMU as well.. ...

Re: R_J Progress

Good news folks,it's back on my workbench :) IMG_20190324_232531.jpg Some minor works to start with: 1. Made and fitted an unf*ck board for the KB connector. 2. Made an adapter for the larger crystal to fit in the smaller socket. 3. Made sure all the jumper pads that needed jumping were jumped! I'll...

Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM

FYI I did a test on a different, not blittered machine last night, and all seemed fine at low and med res. At hi res, I got this: IMG_20190324_233819.jpg There is an obvious shift/step on the LH end of the screen However, it behaved impeccably otherwise, with all resolutions stable and clear, and no...

Re: Internal UltraSatan

I'm still waiting for my copy of PP's drivers though, I'm so eager to try them out. Maybe he's ill or something, haven't heard anything in 8 days. Hope he's well. Did PP get back to you, I heard from him right away and had the drivers the same day. I have to say they are very good, work a treat wit...

Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM

Super quick update, I popped the original Shifter back in and re-ran the quick blitter test from the diag cartridge and it passed OK.

Yeah these machines are like trying to keep an old Ford Escort on the road. You never know what part is going to break every time you turn over the key.
You're not wrong!

Just to confirm have tried the same on the ST Remake as this is the only one I have a blitter in.

Without vsync and blitter enabled I can not reproduce your behaviour RJ. The boards are working ok.
All the more reason for me to try some other boards I think.

Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM

The scope is just to load pins.. You could (and probably better) use a small pF cap, something like 47pF on a fly lead with one end soldered to 0V. Then just go over each pin on the shifter one by one, and see if the video improves (becomes more stable when the 47pF is on any particular pin). The s...
