Re: LOLPRICE

stephen_usher wrote: Tue Mar 19, 2024 9:54 am As suggested elsewhere, the seller may have entered the manufacture date into the price field with some extra zeros by mistake and couldn't change it.
That's certainly possible, but it's easy enough to change the price after the fact, I've done it loads of times.

Re: OSI 600D Superboard Build

OK, so I have ID'd the ICs that form the video circuit, so since there aren't many of them I think the first port of call will be to check all have power and GND and that there are no shorts between pins. Since there are a relatively small number of ICs and they are all 74LS IC's I'll pull them and ...

Re: LOLPRICE

Just 'cos the plastic bags haven't been opened doesn't make it collectable... Even if it were it's well over an order of magnitude too high a price. :-) I think they think the thing they have is much more special than it actually is. As it goes they are a little rare compared to other Atari 8 bit m...

Re: A Grand Day Out

Both the composite and the s-video leads you have there seem to be ringing, giving you ghosting. You may need a ferrite core on them or get better cables. Worth a try. Both my standard composite cables do the same, one does double duty as S-Video, and both shots were taken on the double cable. Not ...

And CP/M looks like this:

So despite what I said earlier, there are definite improvements here so long as I use S-Video.

PhilC wrote: Mon Mar 18, 2024 1:21 pm @rubber_jonnie yes that cable is definitely worth a punt. I got my adaptor imported from the US and it works great but it's not cheap obviously.

I'll try and get a comparison of my screen later on if I get a mo.
Thanks.

Will see what the horrible CP/M screen looks like :)

Re: A Grand Day Out

PhilC Just found this on eBay: Screenshot 2024-03-18 at 11.57.49.png For £20 I thought it was worth a punt as it looks like it is RBGI to SCART, and whilst not ideal, will at least allow me to test and see how things look. Also i did a composite/S-Video comparison, first image is composite: IMG2024...

Re: A Grand Day Out

@rubber_jonnie I use the S-Video cable that's on a special PCB that replaces the modulator but the S-Video cable you bought for your C64 should also do the job nicely and IMO looks so much better. The RGBI uses a whole different interface for the 80 column mode. You know what, I'd totally forgotten...
