Re: Damage done to my STE

My suggestion, and I think I've made it before a couple of times, is to enlist the help of an experienced electronics expert who will know how to clean up the board and how to make the necessary repairs. It looks very like a thick layer of burned on flux or damaged solder mask, not to mention the sh...

Step 1: pop out the shifter and reseat it. Result: voila! The audio glitch that my STe has had since day 1 appears to have been fixed. At least, no amount of wobbling, nudging, or pushing the board disrupts the audio. Success, I think!
Awesome, glad we could help :)

How about I have no.1 and RJ can have the other 2 if he wants?

Do you have any other spare keys lying around?
I'm cool with that unless you need more than one?

Re: My latest acquisition

Yes, ultra satan has a real time clock and an app that sets the atari clock on startup. USatan works flawlessly in my experience. The only issue I see is 4 gb SDHC cards are rare or more money than a 16 GB. Although I have a CosmosEx, it's fitted internally to my STE, so I think one of these is on ...

Re: My latest acquisition

Bet that was a lot easier than the SH204!

Is that a battery holder I see for a realtime clock too?

Re: Wanting to upgrade a 520 ST to 4 MB

Just be aware Russ, part of this comes as a kit, specifically the shifter adapter, and it will require some resistors lifting and pinning to 5v.

If your soldering skills are still not up to par, I'd strongly suggest that you find a friend who can do the assembly and de-soldering parts for you.
