Re: A Grand Day Out

Both the composite and the s-video leads you have there seem to be ringing, giving you ghosting. You may need a ferrite core on them or get better cables. Worth a try. Both my standard composite cables do the same, one does double duty as S-Video, and both shots were taken on the double cable. Not ...

PhilC wrote: Mon Mar 18, 2024 1:21 pm @rubber_jonnie yes that cable is definitely worth a punt. I got my adaptor imported from the US and it works great but it's not cheap obviously.

I'll try and get a comparison of my screen later on if I get a mo.
Thanks.

Will see what the horrible CP/M screen looks like :)

Re: A Grand Day Out

PhilC Just found this on eBay: Screenshot 2024-03-18 at 11.57.49.png For £20 I thought it was worth a punt as it looks like it is RBGI to SCART, and whilst not ideal, will at least allow me to test and see how things look. Also i did a composite/S-Video comparison, first image is composite: IMG2024...

Re: A Grand Day Out

@rubber_jonnie I use the S-Video cable that's on a special PCB that replaces the modulator but the S-Video cable you bought for your C64 should also do the job nicely and IMO looks so much better. The RGBI uses a whole different interface for the 80 column mode. You know what, I'd totally forgotten...

Re: A Grand Day Out

I forgot to add the /url bit That's the one you suggested and I bought when I thought there was an NSTC issue with my OSI 600. So are you saying you use an S-Video cable from the normal display port of the C128 via that adapter to VGA or that you use an S-Video cable from the RGBI interface via tha...

Re: General Stuff(tm)

So, the second Kaypro 4... Powering on I thought the display wasn't working as it seemed blank even with the brightness turned right up... until I turned the lights off. Unfortunately this particular monitor board (unlike the one in the other Kaypro) has all the adjustments right in the middle of t...
