Re: RS232 cables

Fleabay only seems to have 9-9 pin or 25-25pin, and not anything between. I can order you one since you're not on there if you like, they are quite inexpensive.

Does it need to be straight thru or null-modem?

Re: Mega STE, explosive boot

It's not heat-related, I just tried to power it on again after one full day of no use and it crashed on boot. I will start by cleaning contacts as Petari said, actually someone else gave me the exact same advice today. Yep, definitely not a heat problem then. Contacts is a good place to start, may ...

Re: PAK-68/20 - Repository

Ok, I have updated the parts list slightly, adding sockets and other miscellaneous parts. I've also added the documentation Frank kindly sent me with the PCB I bought. As soon as I have a full complement of parts (Working out what I have & haven't got atm, and what I need to buy), I will begin my bu...

Re: Mega STE, explosive boot

If you can get some Isopropyl Alcohol wipes, or just the fluid, then that will help clean any contacts up, but a re-cap may be something you should consider anyway. If it's taking an hour to crash, it may be heat related. Not sure what fans the MSTEs have, worth checking they're running ok if it has...

Ok, that is great. Fortunately, I can read and understand German. I wonder how I am going to fit this in a normal STFM.... Probably sell one of my STFM’s and get a Mega ST instead... :P
Mine is likely to be on a bare STFM mainboard I have spare.

Re: Going Gotek - FlashFloppy How To

I think Jonathan’s step by step instructions are more useful for anyone wanting to try this themselves, but I can add a video here that I made that demonstrates the rotary encoder and piezo buzzer as well. Good stuff, what I was aiming for when starting this thread, was to get people to add so that...

Re: PAK-68/20 - Repository

Thanks Frank, that;s great.

I've corrected it now, probably an issue between translation and my typing later!
