Re: Which 1040 STF is this?

Looks like it has had a mod at some point as there is a drilled hole right where the RF lead would go.... I'd pay some consideration to the PSU when you open it up, particularly the condition of the caps, and you may wish to consider a set of replacements to get it nice and stable. I's also advocat...

Re: Rev C070859-001 Rev2.0 Australia 1989

I might order the v2.3 accelerator and the 1.02/1.04 2 chip rom board [0131] to suit now. I am puzzled about the 1.04/2.06 bios option [0050]. Does the v2.3 accelerator which is conditional for this hack permit 2.06 on an stfm. I know complex hacks permit this but understand this bios was primarily...

Re: Amiga accelerators available as of Q1/2019?

I'm sure you're already aware of these guys IngoQ, https://icomp.de/shop-icomp/de/shop.html#filter=* and also here https://icomp.de/shop-icomp/de/shop.html#filter=* . Their wiki page and shop seem to be a bit contradictory as to what is in/out of stock, but the accelerators are supposedly new, albei...

Re: Which 1040 STF is this?

Just a later model IMHO. I have an STF too, and it's a big button model, best thing to do is have a look at the mainboard revision, it may have a data on it, and you can then see what type/revision it is. Also get sysinfo.prg run on it so you can see what version of TOS it has plus all the other use...

Re: Rev C070859-001 Rev2.0 Australia 1989

You won't be going beyond TOS 1.06 I think, 1.62 and above are for STE. 1.04 is perfectly good IMHO for these machines, and you could simply get a 2 chip 1.04 upgrade and drop it in. Exxos has what you need here: https://www.exxoshost.co.uk/atari/last/storenew/#0033 RAM upgrades can be found here ht...

Re: Amiga accelerators available as of Q1/2019?

What they seem to reflect is rarity and the effect of market forces, and not reality. More the the latter appearantly. And a bit of tradition, Amiga hardware has always been on the more expensive side, as I remember. But as long as people are paying these prices, why should anyone offer cheaper? My...

Re: Amiga accelerators available as of Q1/2019?

There's currently an MTEC 1230 on ebay for 200 EUR, A 1240 recently went at 400 EUR. But at this pricepoint I expect new and with warranty, not 30 years old and untested. I guess ebay is getting less interesting from day to day, even as a buyer. Indeed, Amiga Accelerators on eBay are stupidly expen...

Re: Amiga accelerators available as of Q1/2019?

I managed to get an MTEC 1230 Viper a few years back for a song on eBay, and run it with an 8MB Simm. Recently dropped an FPU in it too, I should probably benchmark it.

It's one of these: http://amiga.resource.cx/photos/t1230,2
