Re: TF1230/Solas RGB Fast Ram errors

Yeah, sorry about that, it doesn't look like something that's possible to fix in firmware on either board. I'll update Solas with the modified buffer logic needed at some point in the new year, and can swap the boards with anyone having issues with this particular configuration. I don't think it's p...

Re: TF2040 Design Complete

Upside down is a given for any cards using that slot, but it's also mirrored by design since there was a possibility of having that passthrough board permanently connected to the busboard. We went with the socket in the end, but the reversed pins remained. Pin 1 of the passthrough is at the bottom r...

Re: TF2040 Design Complete

You rang? :) Right, I'll give some definitive answers here. The Checkmate board adds a Zorro-II slot, but it's not totally A2000 compatible as it lacks DMA arbitration logic. DMA will still work for one device so long as there's nothing else on the CPU bus that can also do DMA, and that will be 24-b...

Re: Does have Exxos PSU some dangerous design aspects?

Fuses in plugs in the UK is because the ring mains setup that's common in the UK is typically rated for 32A, and providing 32A cables for all appliances would be ridiculous, so a point is needed where the maximum load is reduced. In the rest of Europe, it's more common to have lower current capaciti...

Some of the Amiga dealers are carrying them as standard stock these days, now that manufacturing runs have been done. For example, RetroReady I know have lots in stock.

Re: The TF360 rev2 arrives

Cheers guys 8-) Not on here all that often, but thanks for the kind words! Have a few Solas boards here waiting on a few bits to finish them off before they can head out to a few testers - I seem to be caught by very slow shipments from suppliers in the past week or two... In the meantime, here's a ...

Re: Fake TF536s Bounty (Bound Edition)

They are called, IIRC from my days of repairing cars, Pattern Parts. It means that consumers have a choice to buy OEM parts at a price premium, or opt for 3rd party parts that are cheaper, but may not meet the same standards of quality demanded by the OEM. They fit, they will work, and they are che...

Re: Advice on fixing an Amiga 500+

Hmmm... First thing I would suggest is getting hold of a DiagROM and null modem cable. DiagROM replaces the Kickstart chip for diagnostics, and can start with a bare minimum of hardware working. With a green screen for example, you can look at the serial output on another machine and it will show at...

Re: WANTED: 64mb/128mb EDO for TT

I'm curious: The 128MB SIMMs you bought on eBay that didn't work, were they using small, flat RAM chips? That is, more modern-looking than your average SIMM? I've come across a few of these that appear to be modern produced SIMMs (PCB has a 2013 date on it IIRC), but are using 3.3V DRAM chips withou...
