Re: Current postage chaos.
UPS are coping well, I ordered from Digikey Tues evening and it was delivered Thurs at Noon. I tend to use them quite a bit now, they are quite reasonable for rates on larger package. My Atari VCS experience was nuts. They picked up the package in California on the 21st (evening). It arrived in Ger...

Re: Who got tech for Christmas?
It works as expected - it's a medium power Linux PC with a console frontend and a store. No built in emulation except what a game/app might have (so Atari's own game packs have, 2600/5200+Arcade) You can also boot your own OS and run whatever you want. I love having a (very!) nice looking Atari bran...

Re: H5 B1 PRODUCTION PROGRESS
For those who now wish they had paid later to get the REV B1 boards.. if everyone adopted that attitude, Absolutely nobody would have purchased the first board, and the project would have likely been abandoned Being an early adopter means you're an early adopter. I have one of the early boards here...

Re: Old Glue and MMU compatibility
I swapped out the -38 mmu and glue for the originals and the machine booted up just fine. So it appears there are differences between the old and current version. No idea what yet though. Now we go into rumor territory ... but I _think_ I've seen it claimed that the very first MMUs couldn't do more...

Re: 32.084988MHZ oscillator shortages
Those are not just Falcon - that's the main PAL oscillator for the whole of the ST/STE series.centuriontech wrote: ↑Thu Oct 22, 2020 3:29 pmI have also realized this thread is specifically about Falcon main clock oscillator. Should you be interested, I have a stock pile of these:

Re: 32.084988MHZ oscillator shortages
I followed the Epson links through to a distributor in Germany. You need a special programmer, but it looks like they can be had in low numbers at around 2.5 EUR each.

Well that was quick. https://centuriontech.eu/product/customized_oscillator/ "Custom built crystal oscillator in DIL14 “metal can” packaging with output customized per your specification. Please input your desired values below. Frequency must be within 0.500MHz – 133.000MHz interval." At €7.5 it's d...

Re: Old Glue and MMU compatibility
The -20 GLUE has "short top border" (PAL screen starts higher up on the TV/monitor than on the later revision)
A lot of demos will fail to remove upper border/start fullscreen on those machines.
