Just a quick thank you. I used the method above to upgrade a Mega St1 to 4mb.

There's more space in the Mega for the RAM PCB's but they still have to overlap very slightly.
Awesome! Glad it was of any help :)

It's good to open up the caps every now and then so they can breathe.

Re: 520 STFM 256kx4 DIL to 1Mx4 SOJ

Great guide, I'm going to attempt something similar to an C103277-___ REV.2.2 Mega ST1. I don't suppose you know if I can use NEC 4217400-60 4mb x 4 SOJ chips instead of 1mb x 4 as I've got 16 of those and no 514400's or similar at the mo. Got far too many 8 bit Atari ram chips if anyone needs any....

Re: TOS105 ROM

Depends on interest and that someone explain here how that thing (ubeswitch, and possibly others) exactly work . Is there some mechanical switch in them to change color/mono ? Yes. Ube detects the length of VSYNC (which differs between mono and color) and switches between passing through the RGB pi...

Re: TOS105 ROM

Point is not in which video pins to connect, but in that mono sensor pin. Mono out is probably dead in color mode and versus. ST simply will not switch to mono mode if mono sensor is not connected to GND - for what must not have mechanical switch, it can be transistor what will 'connect' . And we a...

Re: When will this item be in stock ?

Regarding the info-button. I'm sure not everyone understands that's what it is. Or rather, I know not everyone manages to figure out that's how you get more info :) Maybe it can be made more in-your-face.

Re: TOS105 ROM

The GEM resources are different between mono and low/medium - the reset is really only there for re-reading of those I think. A modern VGA adapter like the ubeswitch does the switching from RGB pins to mono pins dynamically, no switch needed. It would be great to have those three buttons enabled in ...

Re: Falcon PSU making 'tsk-tsk-tsk' sound

Hi Forgot to mention that it was all tested with the multi meter first to make sure it was the correct voltage first. Sorry You cannot test if it's the correct voltage without load though. There are ways to build your own loads using lightbulbs - see Youtube. The other option is of course to buy th...
