re-Amiga 1200

A friend of mine just did this - which I think is great motivation and support for exxos' reST project as well :)

Re: Part kits

Would anyone be interested if I put together a basic parts "kit" for this ? I'm going to have to order all the parts myself anyway.. I probably have a lot of the parts already thinking about it.. just depends how many I have and how many I need to order of things.. Yeah I'm lazy like that so I'm in...

Re: Boosting STFM: 16MHz bus, 64MHz Shifter

If you can get 640x400x4 with 16MHz, then what would double speed again give ? Well if we're not redoing GLUE then we're limited by doubling horisontal resolution (like the original doubleST modes did before Czietz found a way to trade horisontal for vertical resolution - but that's a one shot tric...

That is a very cool mouse mat, unlike the Never Ending Story there is no end to this saga :p
Need a "I had a BAD DMA" mouse mat :P

Now just need 256 colour version ;)
Yeah I think a nice upgrade would be to have the following new low/medium/high resolutions:

320x200x256 (15kHz, 50/60Hz)
640x200x16 (15KHz, 50/60Hz)
640x400x4 (35.5KHz, 71Hz)

The last two are now done. Let's see if we can get some aid in solving the first ;)

Re: Boosting STFM: 16MHz bus, 64MHz Shifter

awesome, I see that fonts are 8x8 instead of 8x16 and gadgets are a bit too wide. Maybe something else should be patched in that patched Overscan1.6, Most certainly :) I've only edited lines and byte widths for these tests. I propose supporting all the doubleST video modes (including this sw-only a...

Re: Boosting STFM: 16MHz bus, 64MHz Shifter

(I never got the 48MHz thing to work, MMU-Shifter doesn't seem to like to run on non-4 word aligned modes) However, you probably have read about Czietz' software discovery where he figured out how to run the GLUE and Shifter in separate videomodes. For example, GLUE believing it's in high res (71Hz,...

Speculate shifter resolutions based on 50mhz bandwidth ;)
Yeah I wasn't sure whether to plan for FPGA-MMU as well :)

Re: Really crazy idea ...

With the reSTFM (sorry exxos, don't recall your name for it) we should be able to do both the doubleST* video modes (640x200x16, 1280x200x4, 1280x200x2) but also thanks to czietz' amazing sw-solution discovery also 320x400x16 and 640x400x4. And if we include Smonson's Shifter-FPGA one more very attr...
