Re: Scrolling tricks

(All the discussions about joeys, bobs etc are of course very STOS specific. Petaris comments are general) For the trickiest of tricks, us demo coders do those. Not always possible to generalize for games. In general pre-shifting is the way all fast routines work, and then you copy the required amou...

Re: SUGGESTIONS

I think someone is waiting for someone to solder and write some code and then all will be clear ... ;)

ST original: 320x200x16 15kHz 50/60Hz 640x200x4 15kHz 50/60Hz 640x400x2 35.5kHz 71Hz doubleST (overclocked MMU and Shifter): 640x200x16 15kHz 50/60Hz 320x400x16 35.5kHz 71Hz 640x400x4 35.5kHz 71Hz FPGA-Shifter (replacing the ST Shifter, also gives digital video out): I'll let Smonson talk about that...

Re: TOS 2.06 Mega STe

Yeah that's correct.

What do you get when it tries to boot? What TOS did you have before and was that working?

re-Amiga 1200

A friend of mine just did this - which I think is great motivation and support for exxos' reST project as well :)

Re: Part kits

Would anyone be interested if I put together a basic parts "kit" for this ? I'm going to have to order all the parts myself anyway.. I probably have a lot of the parts already thinking about it.. just depends how many I have and how many I need to order of things.. Yeah I'm lazy like that so I'm in...

Re: Boosting STFM: 16MHz bus, 64MHz Shifter

If you can get 640x400x4 with 16MHz, then what would double speed again give ? Well if we're not redoing GLUE then we're limited by doubling horisontal resolution (like the original doubleST modes did before Czietz found a way to trade horisontal for vertical resolution - but that's a one shot tric...

That is a very cool mouse mat, unlike the Never Ending Story there is no end to this saga :p
Need a "I had a BAD DMA" mouse mat :P

Now just need 256 colour version ;)
Yeah I think a nice upgrade would be to have the following new low/medium/high resolutions:

320x200x256 (15kHz, 50/60Hz)
640x200x16 (15KHz, 50/60Hz)
640x400x4 (35.5KHz, 71Hz)

The last two are now done. Let's see if we can get some aid in solving the first ;)
