Re: A space odyssey film missing scene ?

A long short.. but I was sure in that film there was a 7 minute long scene where a guy in a space suit was drifting into space.. his breathing got slower and slower... and at the time a site said it was proving a point that humans should not be in space and it was like a "fish out of water".. Odyss...

Re: New a1200, how are the caps looking?

On a side note, luckily this Amiga came with a CF fully installed with hundreds of games. But I've got no idea how to run programs or add new programs, Amiga seems so foreign. There doesn't seem to be executables like on an Atari. So I wouldn't know how to download for instance tracker software and...

Re: New a1200, how are the caps looking?

Hiya, yup, these are factory caps. I recommend swapping them in any case, there are a lot kits available for this. Buy from a reputable source, and replace the SMD caps for ceramic ones. When desolderding, take your time, some of these are a bit tricky. I recommend watching some of the youtube instr...

Re: Do fish have nationalities?

do fish have nationalities? Of course they do. Just think about the Australian Reef Shark, Siamese Fighting Fish, African Lungfish or the French Angelfish. Some are even political like the Red Snapper. All fish belong to the EU if that helps  The European Eel surely does :-P

Re: PC Speaker music album "System Beeps"

Cool stuff, although I remember tools that could even output digital samples via the PC speaker:

But what really is cool is what some talented musicians were capable to do with the good old Yamaha OPL-3 (Adlib):

Re: Amiga accelerators available as of Q1/2019?

What they seem to reflect is rarity and the effect of market forces, and not reality. More the the latter appearantly. And a bit of tradition, Amiga hardware has always been on the more expensive side, as I remember. But as long as people are paying these prices, why should anyone offer cheaper? My...

Re: Amiga accelerators available as of Q1/2019?

Interesting, a Vampire 1200 is "very close". I guess there will be a huge demand, and therefore long waiting lists. But if it around 300 EUR like the others, this would be very interesting...

Re: Amiga accelerators available as of Q1/2019?

I managed to get an MTEC 1230 Viper a few years back for a song on eBay, and run it with an 8MB Simm. Recently dropped an FPU in it too, I should probably benchmark it. It's one of these: http://amiga.resource.cx/photos/t1230,2 There's currently an MTEC 1230 on ebay for 200 EUR, A 1240 recently wen...
