Re: Ordering the Alpha board

I have to admit, that I envy you guys ... I would love to play with one too. But I really would not find the time right now and I don't have a donor STFM. So I SHOULD be glad, that the last board and therefore the temptation is gone... But I keep watching and provide some cheers from time to t...

Re: Postage ship from the UK

Can't really complain about shipping from UK to Germany. It's quite fast and usually has tracking all the way. But seems to be insanely expensive... whenever I see a nice retro machine based in the UK that I want, the 25-30 EUR postage usually keeps me off...

Re: Giving up on atari

Decided this is all big waste of time. Of course it is ;) What real purpose could a 30 years old computer have nowadays? You love it or you leave it. These things need patience and time, and hell yeah it gets frustrating at times. But this is true for ALL these systems, not special to the Falcon. G...

Re: New video connector ?

For what it's worth, I'd like it to use a VGA connector and a simple rgb/mono toggle switch to mount somewhere on the back of the case. A thing I really don't like about UBE is it likes to switch modes on every reboot. And any fancy software mode switch is going to be a waste of time. Just for the ...

Re: Desolder braid

You should really forget about desoldering braid and desoldering pumps and get into the desoldering station, like ZD-915. Comfort of working with this is incomparable. For cleaning the pads you may still use the braid, together with RMA7 gel flux. Second the ZD-915. Have one as well (see here: http...

Re: Icky - Progress

Just to throw this in:

I am soaking in every post about the remake, and I am HUGELY impressed. We have a working ST that was NOT manufactured by Atari, this is AWESOME!
Congratulations to all the ones involved and keep up this incredible work!

A more recent discovery: The 1970NXP's panel is 50Hz capable. Meaning butter smooth scrolling on PAL machines.. :yay:
