Re: C070243 Rev C (520ST+, 1MB, quite botched with extensions)

A new "ST-Computer magazin" archive has appeared, and this time the RAM expansion from 2.5MB to 3MB is scanned in
Check page 150 (pdf page 154) of magazine 1990-03
https://www.kultmags.com/mags.php?folde ... IvMTk5MA==
And don't forget the errata from magazine 1990-04 (page 10)

Re: Atari 1040STF - C103088 rev.2A - jagged image in low resolution

if the ram would be damaged, the games would not work. So for me this is not a RAM issue. Rather a timing issue that the shifter gets too much desynchronized from the mmu or glue. Does the problem persist if you do a reset? If so, run a demo with overscan effects. Does that correct the issue? Now fo...

Re: Convert image from PNG to PI2 ?

ARGH! Anyone know how to convert PI3 into IMG ?! EDIT: looks like CANVAS can do it ... https://www.exxosforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=65 If you are on linux, netpbm has pi3topbm $ pi3topbm < BILD.PI3 | pnmtopng > BILD.PNG $ file BILD.PNG BILD.PNG: PNG image data, 640 x 400, 1-bit grays...

Re: Modified TOS to remove resolutions limitation

Hi so this TOS modification would make the UBE adapter work flawlessly by software-switching all 3 resolutions. There was already some work done to run a color program from a mono workstation, if the color program didn't use GEM (because bitplane shifting etc). So the UBE switch should be fine, cari...

Re: STFM case remake

Hi

there is a local 3D printing shop in Luxembourg. They powder print nylon. I checked some demo pieces and it seems quite solid.
I could ask them for a quote.

Re: Put 2 YM2149 into the ST

I think the previous design does not need cutting DA4 & DA5 so the whole board could be piggybacked on the existing YM, sparing you painful unsoldering and also no pin cutting. But maybe I am wrong? I'm currently looking for simulation and pcb software for linux. Found kicad with ngspice, but di...

Re: Put 2 YM2149 into the ST

You are a brave man. Hope it works out. In case you don't want to fiddle with that analog switch stuff, you might like my latest sketch. It has extra wires out for DA4/5 for the chips that don't need the bit reversed as well as the flipped one. I don't understand exactly this circuit. Is DA4_0 the ...

Re: Put 2 YM2149 into the ST

I will get myself a couple YMs and components and cobble together something to check if it works.

Re: Conway's Game of Life on the Blitter

I actually published the fast life as standalone
https://demozoo.org/productions/167685/
But it's only the bootsector, you need a program to write it
So that also exists https://demozoo.org/productions/167683/

Re: Put 2 YM2149 into the ST

I had some fun, if you need to learn a new software. Quite surprised what today's online tools are able to do. So I proudly present the circuit nobody needs or wants: 16 YM2149 adaptor for AtariST. 16YM.png Here is the website, it can even simulate, on condition to use elements which are made ...
