Atari XEGS tips?

Hey guys, So when I was a kid I briefly had an XEGS before getting hold of an Amiga. I went up into my mums loft today and not only did I find it, but it still works! Passes the memory tests and everything. So, i'm pretty new to atari let alone 8-bit... Looking for some pointers. I was going to orde...

Re: Can anyone identify this part?

Now that I think about it, could it simply be a power rail? I mean that's some real funky arrangement of closely packed boards there... what if the yellow 'stuff' is just insulation around a pretty high current power rail?

Re: Can anyone identify this part?

Maybe some detail about the material would help... Is the yellow material solid? Spongy? It isn't really clear in the picture. Also the 'wrap' around it... is that just empty tape or very thin enamelled wire? Also is there continuity from one side of the component to the other? (on the metal bar sec...

Re: CPLD Alternatives for the Future

Do you have the source (PDN) for that information? In fact, end of last year there was a PCN that they will change something in the packaging process of the XC9500XL starting in 2020, implying that Xilinx would still produce these CPLDs, then. https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/customer_n...

Re: The TF536 arrives

I think the time it's taken to go from 'first board' to you getting yours running as a beta tester is pretty amazing.

Re: The TF536 arrives

I hope it doesn't get as bad as the 020FG's... The only way I could get a genuine one of those was to buy an old SCSI card with one soldered to it! It's a shame. I mean i'd rather they didn't relabel them. Even if it meant most of the chips out there were 25's and 33's, at least we'd know where we s...

I'm curious... does it currently work with addmem, if the whole upper 4mb is available?

Re: tf534 asking for debugging suggestions

Exactly, and i've found with the 530 for example that a non-friendly FPU will just render the board unable to boot at all. EDIT: You know for checking unsoldered pins, I use a pair of my partners manicure scissors. They have a very small tip, that curves wider reasonably quickly. Without opening the...
