Re: Noob building a TF534

Update. I finally got a new RAM IC for the chipram expansion card, and now it works. Happy now as all the 1 MB games and demos will finally run. :D

Recapped and accelerated amigas go for a ton of money online. Mayb eI should sell it and fix another one.

Re: Tf534 problem with IDE speed

I didn't know replacing the existing chips with bigger ones would work without more mods. My Rev 5 doesn't have unpopulated RAM holes. I will consider that if I cant' get the expansion to work reliably.

if You install 8372 - You will not need this additional refresh circuit anymore and Your Amiga will run more stable, but You will have 1MB of Chip ram, wich isn't enough for some games and programs..
? How do you get 1 MB chip without an expansion?

Re: Noob building a TF534

I almost bought a CD32 yesterday, but somebody sniped it away from me right after I tried to snipe it. Hehe. At least I jacked up the price quite a bit for the seller.

Re: Tf534 problem with IDE speed

I changed to ClassicWB 68k because it uses less chipram.

Re: Tf534 problem with IDE speed

I'm using this IC: https://www.digikey.no/product-detail/en/texas-instruments/74AC16245DLR/296-46280-1-ND/7033455 No problems with IDE and I don't have Int2 connected to anything. A500 Rev 5. I get 1,5-1,9 MB/s with MMU enabled. I think the seek time is more important than the read speed for an Amig...

Re: Noob building a TF534

I found these randomly on Ebay. Wonder if they would work. Looks like they can be plugged directly onto the TF534. Not as useful on an A500 since it doesn't have an alternate drive for loading stuff: https://www.ebay.com/itm/4GB-IDE-44-PIN-SSD-drive-flash-memory-module-thin-client-DE4PA-04GD51AC1SN-...

Re: Noob building a TF534

Ok that explains it. I thought about that yesterday but didn't figure out how to turn off the MMU again after installing MMULib.

Re: Noob building a TF534

Does anyone else have Amiga Test Kit 1.5 hang when testing the Fast ram from Workbench? If I run it from floppy it doesn't hang, and if I rundiagrom that's fine too, but im Classic Workbench it hangs when I select Fast Ram. I can try the CF harddisk too just to see if there's a difference.
