Just my 2cents, I had no-end of issues with white screen on my H5, even though I had top-quality 3M sockets. In the end I got rid of the socketed chips and replaced them with the SMD variants (talking about the system chips) all my problems went away :) Interesting...I'll try to remove, check pins ...

It's a white screen on boot again so I'm wondering if there is a poor connection somewhere and soldering in the floppy power lead disturbed something. Well, I fitted the floppy power lead and the board is again booting to only show a white screen (keyboard LED is lit, getting about 5.09v on the +5v rail)...
