Re: How to fix an old Naksha mouse.

Happy to say that I've fixed the mouse. I'd ordered new leds, photo transistors and the inverter but it ended up being the leds that had died. For future reference the leds can be bought from rs components part no. 171-3858 and are 55 pence each. They are an OP240A infrared led. I changed the 74hc1...

Dye or paint floppy drive front panel?

Hi all, after having recently broken an old Mitsumi drive on disassembly (ripped the connector cable to the floppy head) I ordered a newer HD version replacement one. That works (after modification), but of course the front panel colors don't match the ATARI case colour. Has anyone here tried to dye...

Re: How to fix an old Naksha mouse.

@pixelpusher I have tried adjusting them, just how precise did you need to be? I've fixed Couple of amiga and ST mice before by adjusting the emitters but these ones seem to have no IR being emitted. I didn't measure it (had no sliding calliper at hand), but I'd guess < 0,3 mm. It was a lot of tria...

Re: How to fix an old Naksha mouse.

Hi All. On the bench today is an old Naksha mouse that's externally in really good condition but it doesnt work. 20200505_181320.jpg I've got the idea that the light emitters and sensors aren't wanting to work any more. Although it does try and work when I hold it directly underneath my magnifying ...

jail bars

Hi all, I've one machine which shows jail bars - only slightly visible on a SM 124, but more visible on a LCD (no matter if it runs in mono or colour mode). Does anyone have experience with this or knows how to fix this (e.g. adding some capacitors to the rgb outputs or the 5v input of the shifter?)...

Re: Is AMD Stuck In The PAST? LTT VIDEO

Think I would rather have the AMD method.. Intel "push fit contacts" *shudders* Rather have the pins clamped in a ZIF type socket. For beefier cpus you basically can't avoid it (higher contact density) - my Threadripper machine has LGA too. Installation can be a bit finicky, but it's doable :-) Bes...

Re: Crimp contact connector in the 6 pin psu plug

Hi all, I've to replace one cable of the 6 pin psu plug (the remaining cable part is too close to the plug's case to just solder a cable). Just crimping a new cable to a new connector would be the easiest solutions. Does anyone know what kind of (crimp contact) connector is used inside of the 6 pin...
