I give up with this relocator, I have had problems for a while and was thinking it was my add-ons, but I now find everything works in the CPU socket, I will use anything dodgy via a separate socket in future to avoid damaging anything, they are not wire wrap pins on the dodgy add-on but are still a ...

I ordered a new relocator board, I think some pads must be broken from inserting a product I bought which had the wrong size pins

Cpu relocator problems

Recently I have bee struggling with the CPU relocator in my Amiga 500, my tf530 works fine without it but dark grey screen with it plugged in, I resoldered all the pins and tested the resistances and all pins are good, I am at a loss, any ideas ?

I think with ic's you really need to use a mask but the time it would take you could probably hand solder quicker

I think for passive components paste is better but chips ? I am not decided as I am bad either way :lol:

I am still trying to get this board to work over a year later, soldering the memory chips with paste did not go well, some solder ended up under one of the chips, I lost a track under the memory chip and think I repaired it ok, I was suspicious about my ebay xtal but now I have an oscilloscope I can...

I soldered on my nice cpu socket I got from the exxos store then realised it was very close to the memory chips 🤔 Not a problem if using a soldering iron but I was going to use solder paste and hot air Kapton tape is arriving today and the only other thing to solder is the 68000 pins so I will hopef...

I'm not sure 1.3 suports zorro III. So it probably will never work in 1.3. The only OS i claimed it will work with is 3.1.
