Re: Exxos PSU + CT2B Falcon

You'd be surprised how little difference is there between the CT2 and CT60 when it comes to compatibility. The biggest compatibility killer is naturally TT RAM (developers using BSS as screen/dma buffer I'm looking at you) and then CPU/DSP sync. Things like different PMMU unit, cache management, em...

Re: Exxos PSU + CT2B Falcon

Yes indeed. I have a boosted Falcon myself (Nemesis) but I'd really like to have some FAST-RAM. If Atari just had releaaed the Falcon at 25/50 MHz and with the possibility to add FAST-RAM it would have made such a difference.

Really nice piece of hardware but extremely tricky to install. Got it with a Falcon from Canada for $200 CAD as non-functional (took three months on a ship to get here ;)).
Oh, I can give you double that if it works! Haha! 😉

Re: Falcon PSU making 'tsk-tsk-tsk' sound

Been there myself. Worried that I messed something up in my Falcon. Awful feeling considering how much the machines are worth nowadays, and how hard/expensive it is to get parts for it. But the feeling of relief when you realize that the problems was just a glitch is just as incredible! Glad y...

3-in-1 monitor adapter soon available in exxos store

In a few days, the 3-in-1 monitor adapter for the Falcon030 will be available in exxos store. This adapter plugs into the monitor port and makes it possible to connect monitors using a standard VGA cable. It also features a switch for changing between RGB and VGA video modes, allowing users with mul...

In small print, under the fuse write something like
"Remember to plug it in next time dumbass"
Problem solved, no board mod required
Haha! I love that idea!

Re: Future PSU designs

So I think I may just leave it be, as its going to ramp up costs a fair bit just to prevent the fuse blowing without the PSU being loaded... I mean everyone should know by now swithcmodes don't like being run without a dummy load ;) I totally agree on this one. Most people will just replace an exis...
