Re: New a1200, how are the caps looking?

On a side note, luckily this Amiga came with a CF fully installed with hundreds of games. But I've got no idea how to run programs or add new programs, Amiga seems so foreign. There doesn't seem to be executables like on an Atari. So I wouldn't know how to download for instance tracker software and ...

Re: New a1200, how are the caps looking?

I was recommended this guide: http://wordpress.hertell.nu/?p=464 This guy seems to really know his stuff. I bought exactly the parts he recommended, cost me about 28 quid tho, not cheap parts. Another one to try is BeePi. Which is a fully set up version of Aranym running Mint. Basically a fully modern version of the Atari experience with full program support and GUI.

New a1200, how are the caps looking?

Hey guys, As you know I'm an Atari man - but I recently snagged an a1200 for a bargain. Very much looking forward to learning about this machine. Anyways, it's all working great. I decided to just open it up to check for leaky caps etc, but they look pristine: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1LLRnt...

Re: What is a good price for falcon and what it like to use

I agree with the other guys, even after you get the Falcon be prepared to spend even more for upgrades. Also only get it if you are good with a soldering iron, as these old machines need recapping and it will cost a pretty penny to pay someone else to do all the service work.

Re: Falcon Upgrades

Nice :) Why do you need a tape drive out of interest? Surely they are only useful for backups

Re: Falcon Upgrades

Paul I have re-capped my whole Falcon, so ask if you have any questions. There are two lists of caps: www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=30886&p=320487 ^ This is my original post, from when I recapped my Falcon www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=31402&p=346629 ^ This is Daniels post from...
