Re: TT VME Bus Fix - Does it really make it faster?

Very interesting. I have a 2mb Mach64 as well, so I might run a comparison bench.

Re: TT030 C302406-001 REV H

Very interesting. And yet none of them have that Yamaha chip mod. I would take it apart but it's kind of complicated, as it has got a PCB layer underneath it with an IC or two underneath.

TT030 C302406-001 REV H

It has a very strange multi-layered modification on the sound chip people haven't seen before. Does anyone know what that was for? Thx. edit: updated the title to rev H as suggested by Atarian Computing. 20170304_112017.jpg 20170304_112025.jpg 20170304_112030.jpg 20170304_112044.jpg 20170304_112053....

Re: When is a ST not a ST anymore ?

Petari, you don't seem to understand what I'm trying to put across comparing old cars to modern with old machines vs fpga. If you distill the idea to the bare necessities then when it comes to cars, the fact that they get you from A to B seems to be what you value the most based on your explanation....

FOR SALE - ET4000 Graphics card for Atari TT

This is a home-made card, it was made by Frank Lukas on this forum. It fits entirely inside the TT and comes with the following: * Back panel * GAL Chip to make it Lightning USB compatible (installed) * Original GAL chip it came with * Driver disk - I mainly used this card for 1024x768 256 colour re...

Re: Retro-Hifi

I personally like to take the best of old-school hifi and incorporate it into my modern life. For instance I use a vintage Pioneer SA-8500 as my main amplifier for my computer system, powered by a modern Audiolab M-DAC so that it receives the best signal. Then I route it through very good modern boo...

Re: When is a ST not a ST anymore ?

Yeah I think the thread went a little off-topic when people started to talk about normal upgrades, where as the original question was about FPGA replacements for multiple chips. It's kind of like cars isn't it? Old-school mechanics hate newer cars because everything is electronic and you can hardly ...

Re: Is it possible to generate a 16:9 picture out of Atari

So Peter, what you are saying is that the interpretation of the aspect ratio is completely down to the monitor and not the computer generating the signal?

Re: Exxos PSU + CT2B Falcon

I think I personally would choose the CT2 over my ct60e. Having to change between 030 mode and 060 mode for compatibility reasons is frustrating at times.

Re: Exxos PSU + CT2B Falcon

What does the Ct2b do for the Falcon, is it an 040 CPU? I really like how it allows you to keep the original PSU unlike the ct60. Honestly I think that is a much nicer option.
