Re: Advice on fixing an Amiga 500+

Update: FIXED! :D After re-soldering some of the through hole solder dots (completely cleaning up, sucking out with wick, fresh solder in) And removing the long patch cable I previously installed from the ROM, the machine came to life :) I've put my epoxy over my patch trace wires to keep them safe,...

Re: Advice on fixing an Amiga 500+

Today on this lovely Saturday I decided to give it another crack. The coating looks very good indeed, what did you use? https://uk.farnell.com/chemtronics/cw2500/epoxy-overcoat/dp/1663186 It's really good stuff. I had already covered the back side of the logic IC and wondered how it would come off ...

Re: Advice on fixing an Amiga 500+

I have a creepy feeling that there is still something wrong around the battery damage, check the previously mentioned site. Today on this lovely Saturday I decided to give it another crack. I carefully sifted through all the traces using that AMAZING website.. I can't believe how brilliant it is. T...

Re: Why I'm no longer developing the TF534/TF530 cards

From what I gather an FPU on Amigas is an extremely rare thing to be used, so it does make sense to not have one. Even the last aca1233n for a1200 didn't include FPU because it slowed the 030 down due to burst mode having to be disabled.

I used to want a cosmosex, but now that the netusbee has proper usb drivers and supports keyboard and mouse I don't see the need for it anymore... Unless there's something I forgot.

Ah, thanks. Either! I am converting it to USB for a project so connector doesn't matter :)

Re: Advice on fixing an Amiga 500+

I replaced the kick start with a 1.2 one from my spare a500. I did try swapping the Cias, no change. I'll check that website you posted.

Advice on fixing an Amiga 500+

Hi guys, Symptoms: red then green screen Solved red screen by replacing the ROM. New symptom: just pure green screen. I'm new to Amigas in general and I'm trying to repair an a500+. It had a small amount of battery leakage, I removed the battery and cleaned up the board. The small gate array IC in t...
