Re: When is a ST not a ST anymore ?

But if your whole STacy circuit was a "one chip wonder" in FPGA, is it still a STacy then ? Yeah, that causes more head-scratching. :) What if that same "one chip wonder" was then put into an original STacy case? Would anyone know the difference if they didn't open it up? :) I know people are going...

Re: When is a ST not a ST anymore ?

I love these threads. I commented earlier but I find other Atari users opinions to be intriguing. Especially the part about if you do an upgrade is it no longer an ST? Short answer, I'd say yes. I have a Mega ST that runs my BBS. It was originally a 2 meg, TOS v1.02 machine. Upgraded to 4 megs, TOS ...

Re: Project STacy (STaceX, TOS 2.06 & others)

Some interesting ideas you've got going on there. Like seeing people think "out of the box" when it comes to the STacy. :) So much frustration involved with screen options. (or lack thereof). Not sure I'd label myself as a pioneer. I'm just hard-headed and won't give up on things. I've moaned ...

Re: FOR SALE: Atari MegaST internal IDE Adapter

Do these work OK with accelerators like the Adspeed?

Thanks.

PS Who sells the modified TOS versions for this to auto-boot?

Re: When is a ST not a ST anymore ?

Very interesting thread.... Way back when I first re-cased my Falcon into a Wizztronics case, I had several people declare that it was no longer a Falcon. /shrugs. I also had some people say that as long as it was originally manufactured by Atari, then it was still an Atari. Accept no substitutes ap...

Re: Mice - Alternatives and recommendations

I know they are expensive ($30+), but the best replacement mouse I've found is
the one from Best Electronics. Best "feel" ever, in my humble opinion. :)

Ain’t she a beauty!
She sure is! I've always admired the STacy's sleek lines and look.

Re: Project STacy (STaceX & others)

Yes and no. The mounting holes match but the holes are not standard size or even threaded it seems. I used the original mounting spacers, bushings, and washers but I used small self-tapping screws. It turned out ok. Another thing was the power switch on the side of CosmosEx. I had to drill a suitab...
