Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM

Here's my current project that's been keeping me up late for several months. Fantastic project! Out of curiosity – would it theoretically possible that this new shifter could handle the higher resolutions of running with 16 MHz, as described in parallel posts, with 1280px hor.? Thanks arf! And the ...

Re: ST SHIFTER operation ?

The second method is counting the 16 bits which are outputted, and then loading the data from the data latches. This is actually the method I was going for. I don't think it really matters either way. But I'm also thinking a little further ahead in terms of future MMU designs. In that the data writ...

Re: ST SHIFTER operation ?

Sounds very cool, maybe you could fill us in in another thread here to catch us up ? :) I've just posted an overview in another thread. Thanks for the encouragement! That's all this forum is about, no BS, no bullying, no hindering by breaking one's reputation, only fair collaboration or competition...

Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM

Hi all, Here's my current project that's been keeping me up late for several months. I'm creating a HDMI/DVI video out for my STFM by interfacing a Cyclone-II FPGA with the shifter socket. The lowest-spec Cyclone-II is cheap and can directly drive an HDMI/DVI video signal. It also has onboard SRAM w...

Re: 32768 color dual Shifter ST mod - schematics lost?

I think we could recreate equivalent schematics fairly easily from the BOM. Basically we are talking about a board that plugs into the shifter socket and connects two shifter ICs together, sharing all the control signals. The data bus will need to connected straight through while normal pixel data i...

Re: ST SHIFTER operation ?

Hi guys! Hope I'm not intruding in this thread, I just wanted to say that I'm coincidentally working on an FPGA shifter replacement as well, very similar to what you guys are talking about here (you may have seen my post on Atari Forum). I have implemented monochrome video out to HDMI using a Cyclon...
