Re: Project: HDMI/DVI out for STFM

I just tested the HDMI mod board sent by Icky - after finally obtaining a 32MHz oscillator which I originally didn't buy for my H4 - and it works perfectly. Completely stable so far, no "jiggling" effect. Thanks @Icky!

Re: Sidequest: VGA scan doubler

If you find yourself lacking stuff to do, then it would be neat if it would take the DE signal and a switch to enable/disable the borders in the output image :D Sorry, I don't hold out a lot of hope that it can work. The HDMI mod can do that trick because you can tell the HDMI monitor how big the f...

Re: Sidequest: VGA scan doubler

I've found the easiest way to prevent moire when photographing an LCD is just to step back far enough that each physical pixel in the camera sensor is going to be more than one pixel on the display, then crop the photo down. That's a good idea. Although I don't think I have a big enough room to do ...

Re: Sidequest: VGA scan doubler

So I've been fiddling around with this one over the weekend and, although I am tooting my own horn here, I'm very pleased with the picture quality. The image is sharp, stable, and free from noise. This is a close-up from a proper LCD monitor (not a TV like before) at low res: lowres.jpg And this one...

Re: Sidequest: VGA scan doubler

I put the first of these new boards together today, and got a good result out of it: sc2-3.jpg sc2-1.png (excuse the moire effect, it's just the effect this TV has on my phone camera) sc2-2.png There's a bit of analogue noise in the picture, but I suspect that is probably a combination of my bargain...

Yeah I figured someone else would have reported it, but nothing came up in the forum search.

Re: Smonson's slow H4 build

I tried to mount the DB19 for the hard disk as well today but found I couldn't line up the strain-relief holes. Rather than chop up a fairly valuable connector I'm going to put in a cable in place of the socket, and hang it out the back, so I can work on my future hard disk interface.
