Re: TT: Intermittent phantom key & mouse button presses.

After resoldering the DB9 ports and all the other connectors on the keyboard board and cleaning the DB9 contacts with very fine sandpaper the keyboard seems OK again. I wonder if it was poor contacts making spurious signals.

Re: Need for an MMU in an 030?

So I load my favourite port of bombjack or whatever on a 030 CPU, what advantages does the MMU give ? You can give the program a bare TOS 1.04 520ST memory map, with a low free RAM start address for a start. You could also limit the program to have a 24bit address range so that all those tricks wit...

Re: Need for an MMU in an 030?

Interesting, Never knew that. #030noob. On a ST, ROM can be remapped anywhere in RAM anyway, Though some bad programs might not like it. Though not sure if anyone's tried in 32bit space, but assume it would work. The beauty of the MMU is that you can copy the ROM into RAM and set up the page tables...

Re: TT: Intermittent phantom key & mouse button presses.

Oh, I've not heard of that one. What is it precisely?

The reason I asked is that I've been seeing the problem more and more recently. I've switched over to using an Eiffel temporarily as the TT keyboard was becoming almost unusable some days.

TT: Intermittent phantom key & mouse button presses.

OK, here's another strange one. Every now and again my TT decides that either the right mouse button is constantly pressed or Ctrl-Space is being typed repeatedly but intermittently. This happens with any mouse in the port, so it's not the mouse. The 5V line is something like 5.08V and as smooth as ...

Re: RGB SCART - ARGHHH

For my Sinclair QL I use 3V, two AAA batteries in a holder to switch. That's been reliable on all the TVs I've used.

@exxos those voltages/specifications are for Pin 8, not Pin 16, and not quite correct.

0V-2V Off
5V-8V 16:9 aspect ratio
9.5V-12V 4:3 aspect ratio

Re: RGB SCART - ARGHHH

How many SCART inputs does the TV have? If multiple then many TVs only accept RGB on one of them, the other(s) will be composite/SVideo only.
