TOS FAT 16 filesystem improving progress

http://atari.8bitchip.info/tos105.html I'm thinking about selling programmed TOS chips with this. Preferable is quad TOS in 29F004 or similar chips (4 Mbits, so 512KB per chip), so can have 4 different TOS versions switchable. There is need for more work on supporting SW - partitioner, driver. And ...

Re: Video direct access

That's bad idea. And when you say "starts something like a Bootloader" then make it act like that - so like it is loaded from disk. Otherwise must perform plenty of HW initialization what TOS performs normally - and it is there. You want to "check if interrupts are working" - certainly work not when...

Re: Video direct access

Sorry, but it is not clear is there active TOS ROM. "so for wie can access the Rom" , then : "At the moment we habe no TOS available, the Core loads a Booloader from the flash" The question is: is it jumps right after reset to Booloader (really should be more precise with typing) code or it jumps to...

Re: Video direct access

Harder part in this will be keyboard read. Instead EmuTOS I have disassembled TOS 1.04, where can see well early stage HW init code - in ASM. I can post it here. But I guess that will need more assistance. Test should include more than just white-black color, and is not clear want you keep black bgr...

Re: Retro-Hifi

I just was in local Mediamarkt (where I don't go often), and seen pretty much retro - well, at least in design and used medias stuff. Radios, vinyl players etc. So, I guess that it is trendy now. But I just don't have old tapes, disks, so I stick to digital :D

Re: Video problem on STE

This type of corruption can be caused because SW is made on/for STE with different CPU clock, and even if it is very small diff. it causes errors with high-color displaying. Wakeup state may affect things too. So, maybe to try to turn off machine couple times and retest. Don't see that author gave e...

Re: Mice - Alternatives and recommendations

Since in title stays 'recommendations' , I can recommend couple things about original Atari mouse(s): Breaking of cable is most common error - usually right where it goes out of mice - there bends most. Then is best to replace whole cable with 9-pin connector - really not hard task. 'Glassification'...

Re: Fascinating

There is saying that every SW what serves it's purpose well is good SW. If you can solve task with Basic, it is good. And there is lot of simple things where Basic is OK. And for beginners Basic is very good, even if today it is not popular/recommended way. But there are other very stupid claims - l...

Floppy Image Access

Floimac.png Floppy Image Access Utility for accessing ST floppy image files on Atari ST and compatible machines equipped with mass storage - hard drives, Flash card adapters and like. Purpose of this is not exactly same as with program Floppy Image Runner. This is not intended for running SW from i...
